This ended his first tour of duty, he was recalled to receive the Victoria Cross from His Majesty, King George V. Billy Bishop was the first to receive the Victoria Cross, the Distinguished Service Order, and the Military Cross all at once. His next tour started in 1918

This ended Bishop's fighting career. He was pulled out of action to avoid the possibility of his death and resultant loss of morale that would have occurred.
This list is somewhat controversial as it lists no balloons, while in the book, Bishop states that at the time he was sent back to London to receive his medals from King George V, he had a total of 47 victories, which included 2 balloons. There is also a great lack of detail, such as, none of the Albatross claims are identified as to type, simply maker.
This list is merely for comparison. I will also present, in the near future, his list from the Grub Street publication, "Above The Trenches". As well, I shall also present the list of his claims as published in Dan McCaffrey's book, "Billy Bishop, Canadian Hero".
